Beatrix Potter and the Westcountry
Emma Laws – Westcountry Colours: Beatrix Potter in Devon and Cornwall
This is a new talk given by Emma Laws (who used to be the Curator at the V&A and now lives in Devon and is Director of Collections at the Devon and Exeter Institution.
The lecture is called ‘Westcountry Colours: Beatrix Potter in Devon and Cornwall’ and is fascinating and entertaining, with lots of quotes from letters and Journal entries written during Potter holidays to the West country (and, of course, it features quite a bit about Little Pig Robinson).

Your donation will be a valuable contribution to the Devon and Exeter Institution and will help us to preserve our Grade II* listed building and heritage collections.
In the spirit of the 19th century scientists who founded the Devon and Exeter Institution we have adapted our research service and learning and engagement programme so that we can continue to connect with our members and supporters at this challenging time. However, like many cultural institutions, we face very challenging times ahead. With your support we know that we will be able to emerge from this time even more resilient and with a deeper appreciation for the Institution and the role it plays in our lives. We have a long and vibrant history and we want to ensure the Institution continues to inform, inspire and intrigue generations to come. Whatever you are able to give, thank you.
