The Linder Lecture 2023 was held by Dr. Matthew Kelly, author of The Women Who Saved the English Countryside (2022). He is a Professor of Modern History in the Department of Humanities at Northumbria University. In his book, Dr. Kelly describes the land preservation efforts of four distinctly different women, one of whom is Beatrix Potter! He contributes new insights to Beatrix Potter studies by exploring her personal motivations and acquisition strategies.
